Hi, I’m Dr. Ala Farah, and I’m so glad you’re here!

Having been through my own hormonal health challenges, including PCOS, I understand how overwhelming it can be.  At Farah Health, my goal is to create a space where you feel truly heard and validated – a space that I never had when I was going through my own journey. I’ll be right there with you, offering guidance as we work together towards your health goals.

Originally from Sudan, I grew up in Dubai and moved to New Zealand in 2009, proudly calling the Waikato region home since 2012. My husband and I, along with our three lively boys, love being part of this beautiful community. After starting my career in hospitals settings, I moved into general practice, and that’s where I truly realised the impact of holistic, patient-centred care.

I’ve earned postgraduate qualifications in women’s health, obesity medicine, lifestyle medicine, public health, and trauma-informed care. As a GP, I bring together my clinical expertise and commitment to holistic care to support my patients. I’m also working towards a fellowship with the Australian College of Nutritional and Environmental Medicine (ACNEM). As an active member of organisations like the Australasian Metabolic Health Society, and the Australasian Society of Lifestyle Medicine, I’m always learning to offer the best care possible.

When we meet, you’ll probably hear me ask, “What brings you joy?” because I truly believe that joy is a key part of finding balance in life, – especially when it comes to your hormones and overall health. My last name, Farah, means “joy” in Arabic, and that’s the heart of what I hope to bring to you through Farah Health – a sense of joy, balance, and complete well-being.
